OLE' dogs and new tricks is the same as OLE' cowboys with a new web page and trying to tell ya'll how we got here and what we have tried for years (with some success) to breed. That being a few quality foal. We have kept the mares that are direct daughters to Hall of Fame horses and breed them to direct sons to Hall of Fame horses in order to raise a consistantly TOP NOTCH off spring. For years we have quietly raised top notch off spring that also happen to be Gold Champagne. This means Dark Gold Champagne.
For those who don't own a copy of EQUINE COLOR GENETICS by D. Phillip Sponenberg, DVM, PhD. Gold Champagne isn't a Palomino but the does look similar. Amber Champagne isn't buckskin but the newbie might mistake it for this color. Smokey Cream or Ivory color comes from your lighter color mares. So you ask why Champagne and not just the Palomino? Because like Doctor Sponenberg bring out in his book on Genetics, the Champagne gene is a dominate gene and the Palomino gene is a passive gene. Meaning of course you have a greater chance of desired colors with the dominate gene. We at TOP NOTCH FOXTROTTER FARMS have the only known direct son of the late great Missouri Traveler E. who also happens to be Golden Champagne. As most know and we agree, the mare has as much and maybe more to do with the quality of any off spring. This is why we have picked and continue to pick certain mares that make up our herd. We choose the direct daughters of proven individuals as well as the Hall of Fame Horses such as Mack K's Yankee, Missouri Traveler E., Missouri,s Outlaw, Toddy's Perfection The Hustler, just to mention three or four.
Traveler's Gold Image is a true Golden Champagne. Golden Champagne horses keep their beautiful golden color all year kept inside or outside. Image is a SR. WORLD GRAND CHAMPION MODEL STALION. #1 Champagne Producer in the MFTHBA. Don't just dream of Quailty Gold come and get one.
